Sebastiano RICCI ist einer der Hauptmeister des venezianischen Spätbarock. Er war Schüler von MAZZONI und CERVELLI in Venedig. Einflüsse von PIETRO DA CORTONA, CARRACCI und RENI. Sebastiano RICCI knüpft an VERONESE und dessen venezianischen Barock an und bereitet auf TIEPOLO vor.

Dass im hier zitierten Kommentar zu dieser Zeichnung des online-Katalogs des Royal Collection Trust der offensichtlichen Zusammenhang mit dem ebenfalls in England befindlichen Gemälde nicht hergestellt wird, ist verwunderlich.
»The drawing is not connected with an identified composition, but there are four more drawings in the Windsor album (RCINs 907050, 907048, 907047 and 907049) and a drawing of St Michael and four angels in the album in the Accademia, Venice.«
